The Academic Bridge Program begins its seventh year at Education City in Doha, Qatar. Everyone and everything related to the Academic Bridge Program is dedicated to providing a personalized, student-centered approach that will meet the needs of our students and help them to achieve success in outstanding world-class universities. The ABP provides students with crucial academic knowledge, keys to independent study disciplines, English language competency and the social awareness that will equip them for success in their chosen futures.
The mission of the ABP is to provide top graduates of high schools in Qatar and similar schools elsewhere in the region with the academic and personal skills needed for success in English-language university programs of the highest quality, particularly the universities in Qatar Foundation's Education City. Currently the universities represented in Education City are Georgetown University School of Foreign Science in Qatar, Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, Texas A&M University at Qatar and Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar. Many of the students who have completed the ABP in previous years are currently enrolled in these five universities.
The language of instruction in the ABP is exclusively English. Among the subjects included in the curriculum are English (EFL), science, math, computers and multi-media, and skills for university success. The courses are designed to help students do well in competition for entrance to major English-language universities around the world and to help them develop the computer skills and study habits that will ensure their success once they are enrolled.
The ABP is a pioneer in the Gulf region in that it provides a coeducational opportunity for young men and women. Male and female students attend classes together and equally benefit from the many educational resources and opportunities of Education City.
The ABP is located in the new, architecturally stunning LAS building on the campus of Education City. The ABP currently shares this space with Texas A&M University at Qatar and Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar.
