Dr. Miles Lovelace joined the ABP as director in April, 2007 after an extensive career spanning almost forty years in international education. Previously he had served as Director of the International School in Stavanger, Norway; as vice president of Anatolia College in Thessaloniki, Greece; as EFL and English teacher at Robert College in Istanbul, Turkey; and as visiting professor at the American University in Beirut, Lebanon, and at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. Dr. Lovelace had also headed an independent school in Alabama, been a community college dean in Boston, and served as a professor, dean, and associate vice president for academic affairs at Truman State University in Missouri. He earned degrees in history and philosophy at the universities of Memphis and Mississippi; later in his career, he earned the Ed.M. and Ed.D. degrees in administration and planning from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
In his personal philosophy, and in all his assignments, Dr. Lovelace has always placed students as the first priority of any school or college. He believes that life is a great gift and that each of us should try to make the world a better place than it was when we entered it.
