The Academic Bridge Program's Student Orientation is held in the Learning and Resource Center (LRC) in the LAS Building at Education City
The orientation is attended by the newly enrolled students who are chosen after a thorough process of screening and days of deliberation by the Admissions Committee. Due to the high number of applications this year only the highest scoring and most eligible students are able to join the Academic Bridge Program. It is worth noting that the numbers of students applying for the program is steadily on the rise.
Placement Tests for the ABP's newly enrolled students are held before orientation at the ABP's LAS building. The placement tests are designed to test the students' abilities in 3 major areas; English reading, Math and Computer Skills. Students are then sorted into five academic levels according to their Placement Test results. Throughout the year, students are able to move from one academic level to another as they improve their proficiency.
The Academic Bridge Program is a pre-university foundation one year preparatory program designed for top caliber high school graduates. ABP aims to bridge the gap between high school and university by developing and enhancing the students' academic , social, cultural and personal skills - thus, enabling them to enroll and succeed in top quality English speaking universities at Education City or abroad.
